Privacy Statement

We take your privacy extremely seriously. Our handling of your data is covered by the policies of the Research Ethics Committee of the University of Liverpool.

The University processes personal data as part of its research and teaching activities in accordance with the lawful basis of "public task", and in accordance with the University's purpose of "advancing education, learning and research for the public benefit".

Under UK data protection legislation, the University acts as the Data Controller for personal data collected as part of the University's research. The Principal Investigator acts as the Data Processor for this study, and any queries relating to the handling of your personal data can be sent to [email protected]

All data will be stored on a secure server, with all identifying information removed.

Yes. Your data will receive a randomly assigned "key" consisting of numbers and/or letters. There will be no way to identify you from this key alone.

Your data will be used in statistical analyses that will allow us to understand cognition. These results may be made available in journal articles and conference proceedings.

Who will have access to my data?

Your data will only be accessible by approved University researchers. Anonymised copies of your data will be made available to other researchers upon request.

Will my data be archived for use in other research projects in the future?

Your data may be archived for potential use in future research. This data will be fully anonymised.

How will my data be destroyed?

Your data will be destroyed by erasing it from the server it is stored on.
